    Biography

    Yukino Nakamura graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2022 with a B.S. in chemistry and a minor in integrative neuroscience. She joined the UCSF Department of Surgery in June 2022 and currently manages clinical trials and projects within the Division of Surgical Oncology, General Surgery, and Vascular Surgery:

    • PrehabPal: A Digital Tool to Help Older Adults Prepare for Surgery
    • Evaluation of SINGLE PORT (SP) Robotic Technology in Colorectal Surgery
    • Prophylactic Reinforcement of Ventral Abdominal Incisions Trial (PREVENT): Prospective, Multi-Center, Open-Label, Randomized, Controlled Trial of Phasix Mesh to Prevent Incisional Hernia Subsequent to Open Midline Laparotomy
    • A Feasibility Study to Evaluate Safety and Probable Benefit of the Eclipse XL1 System for Distraction Enterogenesis in Adult and Pediatric Patients with Short Bowel Syndrome
    • Effectiveness of Measuring Local Tissue Oxygen in Response to Induced Hemodynamic Changes with the Profusa Wireless Lumee Oxygen Platform in Patients with PAD
    • Endovascular Exclusion of Thoracoabdominal (TAAA) and/or Paravisceral Abdominal (PVAAA) Aortic Aneurysms

    Ms. Nakamura is also a member of the Differences Matter working group within the School of Medicine and a mentor with the Clinical Research Coordinators: Learners for Equity (CIRCLE) program.
